Protection against spammers?
There appears to be a spam attack on a forum I am at and I was wondering what suggestions or things could be done to prevent or possibly reduce the amount of spam. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

stop forum for some days if you dont mine. Make it in construction. And ban ips of that usernames.
Re: Protection against spammers?
Would those web proxys things get around the banning of IPs though?

Re: Protection against spammers?
i know some of user will get problem also but this is not solution.
Also, they may not use proxy but can have obtained IPs. They can post again after restrating computer, But as i told there no other help anyone can do.
Ban them as soon as possible. After somedays they will stop coming your forum. Then again unban the ips.

I got one more solution...
See there is one new fuction called friends and foes.
Does who are spammer make them foes in your users profile.
"Foes are members whose messages will not be entirely visible and of which you will not recieve any more private messages.
Note that you cannot ignore the moderators or the administrators."
