Won't let any new member register

When a new user is trying to register no matter what email or user name they use it says that the email or user name is already taken. How can we fix this? We have had alot of people trying to register and it won't let them

have you made sure your forum is set to allow new registrations? go to admin>>>users and groups>>>user settings to check.

Yup everything looks good there! Everything says we should be able to have new members

have you been into admin>>>users and groups>>>>inactive users, you can see if anyone is waiting to be let in, which could be why its telling you you have already registered.

So I found a thing that said inactive users and I activated them all and it worked. They can access the site. But why would it not activate them when they got there email to activate there account?

But it hasn't ever done that before?

perhaps the emails were blank and didnt contain a link? it has happened on occasion, a glitch that normally sorts itself out.

ok so do I need to just keep checking this? to make sure?

they dont get message when they are registrate,and try again.

It have happen also with me some times..

It should come a message up,where people know they are registrate.

yes checking it once a day just in case as some people have a tight spam inbox meaning they wont ever receive any emails from forumotion, it will just be automatically deleted. If there are any waiting i find its good to send them a personal welcome email and invite to log in

See mine are getting the messages and the click the link but then it still shows them as inactive
