i think user should be able to PICK there ranks when they earned them!

Example!

on this forum (not a really one)
every 10 posts gives you a new rank!
i can choose which rank i want providing that i have reached the post limit for them! sortive like the admin panel, when you are choosing the special rank you want, only difference is that users have to have a certain post!

This can still be achieved. Like a rank shop. In the shop ranks available for various posts can be displayed. Whenever the user reaches a certain amount of posts, he can come & post in that thread that he wants a different rank.

What do you mean by official? When its possible to achieve it I don't think there should be a problem.
