add blocks at the sides of the forum

i have seen some forums where various blocks(ex.adds,announcements,banners) are put at the sides of the main forum body,either within or outside it.my guess is i need to activate templates,but as i m a newbie i thought i d ask before buying them.so is this possible..in this or any other way?thank u

you mean something like a navigation block on the index page, at the left or right side of the forums?

It is possible, but it requires some good CSS knowledge, which I don't have a lot of...
