Find User IP

I've had a issue with a user on my forum, they posted inappropriate posts, so inappropriate I had to delete them fast and banned the user, and in the deleting of them I forgot to check the IP via a users post, so how else do you check for a users IP? I want to keep a eye on the IP, so if someone signs up with the same IP I'll know it's them and can prevent them from spamming my forum with that stuff again.

There's two options:

1. You can use the button, "View Ip." If you do not have it, then you can simply do the following:

ACP >> Display >> Pics Management >> Advance Mode >> Buttons (tab) >> View IP address of poster : add the button.

2. Once you have that set, then you can check the user's ip. Or directly do the following,
To ban the IP;
ACP >> Users & Groups >> Ban Control >> Ban an IP address. >> Search user IP address

When someone makes a post on the right hand side of the post, you have a IP button. You can click on it & check the IP. The other way is to catch the user online & check his IP in the admin panel.

I stated that I deleted the post before getting to look at the users IP via a post, and also that I banned the user, so there's not chance of 'catching them online.' I know I could have got the IPs that way. =]

I tired searching the users name in the IP ban section, and their IP, doesn't show. Is there a reason for that?

Yes, i just told you the two ways to do it. There is no other way except this.

It won't show anything in the IP ban section, as I don't think you banned the user via his IP.

Oh right I see, well thank you for letting me know.

And I see, ok. Oh nope just did a 'regular' ban.

Add a random imgae where the IP ban button should be ; )
Then you can check his IP, and then delete the button.
