Chinese character in subject header

currently, my forum default language is English. But I need to write in Simplified Chinese occasionally. I've this problem where the Simplified Chinese just don't display correctly in the Subject/ Topics Header. They would always become a string of numbers & signs. I don't want to convert the default language or board language to Simplified Chinese because some of the members can't read Chinese. Pls help. Many thanks in advance.
