Hidding headers (Navigation links) Empty Hidding headers (Navigation links)

Post by zink77 February 15th 2008, 3:56 pm

I know how to add navigation links but how do I hide them? NOt only the icon but the text link too. I'm talking about the small navigation links on top of the forum.

You can hide the navigation buttons from admin panel=>Styles=>Pictures and colors=>List of pictures and then look for the button/buttons you would like to hide. When you find it click on the image and check the hide box and then click on Save.

Thank you. I know how to hide buttons. It's the links I want to hide too. For example, the "search" navigation header I don;t need. I want to replace it with something else and keep them a few.

It can't be done right now. There is a suggestion in the suggestions forum for this. Please support it by voting here.

Okey, to remove the links:
Admin panel > Style > Headers > Check for yes on "Only view/show images in navbar"

The problem with that is now you have gotten rid of the text altogether. What if I want the text, but I just want to get rid of one item, for example I don't use user groups, so I want to get rid of user groups in the header, but I don't want to just hide the picture, and I don't want pictures only, because I want the text for the other things.

You can only hide (delete) custom headers (that you add yourself). You can make a suggestion in the suggestion forum for hiding only some navbar links.

Thanks, I did this a few days ago as I just mentioned in a post above. Not only do I want to be able to hide some, I would like to customize it based on if they are me, the admin, or just a normal user, also I would like to be able to change the text itself, so the portal says home, and the home says forum, or index, something like that. Just a more customizable bar in general. If you like the idea you will find a link to the thread a couple of posts above, please vote.

Yes ! it can be done, however - you would need to edit your RAW CSS (as ive done with my own forum)
i've disable my forums basic CSS and recreated a whole new one <IMO>

Okay, I guess you got me there. I didn't really think about that, but I don't really want to edit it. It would just be nice if I could modify it quickly in the admin panel.
