Recurring Trolls? Need help
Hi there,
I am an admin on the site: http://foirfeacht12.forumotion.com
We have a forum troll who keeps coming back. Its' really degrading our site... we've banned him countless times, emails, IP's and everything but he keeps coming back.
Any suggestions on how to stop him?

Re: Recurring Trolls? Need help
There is no way to stop unless he gets bored.
So firstly, do these things.
1) Ignore him, keep banning without saying anything to him.
2) If he doesn't stop. Choose account activation to admin.
He will definitely get bored one day & leave.

Re: Recurring Trolls? Need help
instead of banning him place him in a group with no permissions to the forum, then he is just stuck in there, Have your forum set for accounts to be activated by email as well, this way he will get tired of creating new email accounts, then evrytime he comes back with a new account just stick him in that group with no permissions.
i mean not a whole lot you can do if someone is changing ip and emails, but by having all accounts activated by email only will force him to create a new email each time. So give that a try and see if it helps.
oh i would make the group hidden to, have the groups permissions set so he cant see forums or anything, he wont know what hit em at first.. LOL. If he keeps comming back with new accounts, keep putting him in there

A tip I've tried in the past is do what Kirk said and also instead of banning his account, put it into a group where he has no posting privileges what so ever and he can't send PMs etc.
It is almost like banning him but it isn't quite. It usually frustrates them as they aren't banned but can't do anything and after a few accounts created and going into this group where they can't post they get board and quit.
