Taggings to notifications

Hello

Is it possible to add a tagging system to my site, so whenever you mention someone (example: @USERNAME) It will show up as a notification for the user, so that they can see, that their attention is required somewhere?

I can't think of why it might not be working, my only other thing I can ask is did you tick "In all pages" in the javascript management.

EDIT: I just checked the last page in that topic and you'll find a code posted by someone called "Dom", the new editor has brought a slight issue with the coding and he has posted up a temporary solution although it is proving to be slightly buggy.

I guess you might have to watch that topic for updates.

Some months ago I have seen a similar tutorial into the portuguese forum, but that´s not a REAL tagging system I think.

Why I use the word REAL? Because in a real tagging system you can manage tags, making searchs sorted by tags etc...

But with this system, is just a virtual system, not a 100% tagging system, because with this you just show tags at the botton of the topic, but you cant use them...

But, if you really need it, the nearest thing you can do is follow that tutorial that Derri has brought.

Well I think considering what he's wanting to do, that tutorial is the nearest/best thing he can do. However it appears with the new editors its having some issues.

Tried everything I could, however none of the codes work :-(

I guess I'll have to watch that topic for now

It seems like the code only worked for the old editor and the new code he provided doesn't always work as some members have reported issues as you can see in the thread.
