html link

sorry if this has been asked before, but as a complete novice I want to write a html link to my website to pass on to others

I have no idea where to begin, so can someone please point me in the right direction

Where do you want this link to show up at? If you want it here there is a section for promoting your forum, just follow the directions and once its approved people will be able to see it. Also in your profile for the website field you are allowed to post your forumotion forum. If you want it out in the world in general, then you need to find places that will let you place your link on their site. There are tons of web directories out there, just google for it and you will find them. Some will let you just place your url, others will require that you make a link to them on your site too. It is actually more helpful to post your link where people who might be interested in your site already hang out. So finding sites with a similar theme and getting your link there is always good.

yeah thanks for that I have friends that run very simmilar sites to my own & they have said that if I can come up with a link they will put it on their sites for me

Just give them the url to your website. http://yourwebsite.forumotion.com or whatever it is. If they actually need the code it would look like <a href="http://yourwebsite.forumotion.com">This is what people will actually see</a>
