forum link from portal page

Hi. Thanks for providing this wonderful resource.
I have set up a private forum last night- and added a portal page. I notice on the portal page - under the 'forum' link my forum doesn't seem to appear? just a 'create a new forum' and 'help forum' link. I've had a look through the admin panel but can't see how to link my forum to my portal Have i overlooked something?

Hello and first off welcome! let me check your forum and maybe see if I can fix it! One minute

Ok go to admin panel.
First you should make a new forum and title it something like PORTAL NEWS.

Then admin panel---> modules--->portal configuration. Then board of news choose the forum you want to link it to.

Then go to the regular forum and post something in a regular topic and it should appear in the portal.

hi there,

the forum module that you have in your portal is not for linking to your own forum. I would remove it. Your forum is accessible by using the navigation menu module which you can edit to change the word index, to forum if you prefer by going to admin>>>modules>>>Portal Pages management>>>structure and clicking the orange cog in the navigation module to edit. find the word index and change to forum.

Hi again. I think i found my own work around by editing the html. Thanks for your help
