privacy policy question Empty privacy policy question

Post by michelle_field March 19th 2008, 4:07 pm

Hi everyone!

I have recently set up a forum on here for my website which is aimed at children, I have read the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and understand that in order to obtain and use information off of children under 13 I will need to gain parental consent. Is there any way that i can only allow children over this age to use the forum I have set up on here, or a parental consent option?
Suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

You can set a minimum age in "Users & Groups / Users / User Settings". Find the option "Allow birthday management" and enable it. Then enter a minimum and a maximum age. Now, head to "General / Profiles" and check the box besides "Force users to submit a birthday".

Now only people above your defined minimum age can register, others will get a note to contact admin and that they are not allowed to register.
