Smilies

I'm having trouble uploading smilies onto my forum. I can change the code, the text, the group, the group's name, but not the smilies themselves. The files I am trying to upload are all .gif, so that isn't the problem.
The error message says: "Your file type is not allowed."
Has anyone had this problem before? What should I do?

If you found a Smilie, then Save the Smilie to your computer...

Go to Admins Panel>Styles>Smilies>Add New Smilie>Add the Code, Name and then press Browse, get the image and then save and it should be there....

They are already on my computer (because I made them). And I've done that already and got an error message telling me that "Your file type is not allowed." I've also tried using an image hosting website, but got the same message.

Give me the Smilie and I will see if it works on mine...IDK whats wrong..

Make sure you typed everything in correctly...

That's odd, I copied the image, saved it in the same folder as the others and it worked. Weird...
Edit: I think I know why that happened now! I originally saved them as bitmaps and then changed them to .gifs!
