How Can I Show News In Portal ?

Hello - Please help me out.
News wont show in portal. May be - Have to delete and add again. But dont know how to do it.
I had set a category for news. And did enabled for portal. But its wont show in portal.
Please help me out if i did wrong...

Go to Admin (in advanced level) > modules > portal pages management > structure > Addition of existing modules

click location you want the module to be. (I use column 2) and click on: add the module.

I did it.
And already i have add a category for show it in news.
But dont know - why news wont show in portal...

Looks like you've got a great forum!

Try this:

Go to Admin (in advanced level) > Portal and Calendar > Configuration > Module News options (second category box)

Number of News: 2
Length of news: 650
Board of news: can be any of your forum categories.

Go to Admin (in advanced level) > modules > portal pages management > structure > Addition of existing modules

click location you want the module to be. (I use column 2) and click the: add the module.

Check your portal page (refresh) afterwards,to make sure it went through.

I have the same problem too! But i figured it out! Sticky and annocement post dont show in the news! Even locked ones! it has to be a normal post if you like it to show on your portal Very Happy

i did the same. Still its same like before. It wont work in protal.
Before it was working. I can remember, one time i have changed a number. May be that was 3 and i made that 1
after thn its wont work. But i rechanged that number. But it wont work now Sad

Are you using the news portal that was already set up in the system, or did you make a new custom block, to be added?

Here is the one that is already set up in the system under this heading on the Portal Structure management > Addition of existing modules.

Use the pull down menu in:

Modules > News

Location > Column 2

Click on > Add the Module

If you made a new custom block:

Under the heading:

Portal Structure management >Addition/deletion of personal modules

Modules > News

Location > Column 2

Click on add > Add the Module

Check the portal page, and refresh to make sure the module shows up.

This should work. If not, maybe one of the staff here can check out your forum for you.

I did thise all. But nothing was done. Thn i just deleted ma portal. And reset... And now its ok like before. And am happy now Smile

I'm sorry you had to re-set the portal page, but happy that you are able to use it now.

hi, i;'m having some problems too with the portal.
At first i use NEWS as the board of news to appear int he portal but nth come out
(i did make post there)
but when i change it into another board of news it appears on the portal.

can somebody help me??

(ps:sorry my english is not that good)
