Ads appeared??

So, I go to my forum, http://www.galaxygui.com/ and there are suddenly ads on the index when you're not logged in! What happened? . Before there were never any kind of ads and there was an option to turn them off but not now?

It seems I am supposed to have an option "no" for ads but it seems to have dissapeared

It seems the deemed that about 2 weeks were long enough for us not to have ads on our sites. So now you must buy points to remove ads from your site even if there is a option not to have them on your site.

oh.. then how come there are still forums without them? for example: this one is also hosted on forumotion but doesnt have it? I know the owner of the site and he didnt pay to get it removed..

Hiya alxz310, I have just spotted your post after writing a similar one myself. I have never had any ads on my forum at all, but yesterday Google ads started to appeat on the log in page.

Perhaps in time even the forums that dont have any at the moment will eventually get them, unless they have paid not to have them on view. It's a shame because the forum looked better without them, and now, to get rid of them it seems we have to pay.

I guess it does show that Google has noticed your forum though

Hey guys, I checked into my forum this morning, only to find an ad banner had appeared on my index screen. I went into Admin>General>Configuration and set the Allow Banner Ads option to No and this sorted the problem.

I've not accessed my admin panel for several weeks, so I know for a fact that I didn't alter this setting, but clicking to No has sorted the appearance of ads and they're now gone.

I chose Forumotion because I don't want ads - I run a family forum and I don't want viagra adverts and the like popping up in front of kids faces!!

Perhaps someone for the Forum Team would like to comment?
