GOOGLE ADVERTS Empty GOOGLE ADVERTS

Post by kirkby1red Sat Apr 19 2008, 11:08

Hiya everyone. When I log off from my forum, I get the forum banner at the top of the page, and I can still see the main page of the forum, with the list of all the various sections etc. I can now also see Google adverts at the top of the page? It just started yesterday, prior to that the forum has been ad free?

Can anyone tell me why that is and how I can get rid of them again?

Thanks for the reply. You are right that once logged in they cant be seen, but just before you log in they can. It's just that up till yesterday there were no adverts anywhere at all.

Perhaps Google only put them on when the forum has got a certain amount of people using it - so perhaps its a bit of a compliment! Very Happy

no you cant its a bold faced LIE, if you are truly doing something for free then deal with it, but those of us who pay should have the option, its not like we make anything off the ad hits..

Forumotion claim they're removing ads, see this link here to a recent announcement:
https://help.forumotion.com/updates-and-new-features-f24/no-more-ads-on-your-forums-t15100.htm

Perhaps the function of removing ads has caused a small glitch to the Tech Team? I've managed to remove my ads with no problem by going to Admin>General>Configuration and setting Allow Banner Ads to No. I have bought points, but they've all been alocated for Template editing plus a friend whose never bought points has successfully removed ads from his forum too.

I can't suggest why the option to Allow Banner Ads has changed to 'Yes' because I havent accessed my admin panel for a while, but check this out first guys.
