Limitation of characters in a post

Characters in the messages: 15 999 characters (Including spaces)

I have a problem with this limitation and I don't seem to be the only one.
Is there any reason for this limitation?
I would definitely need more characters for my forum since it is supposed to hoast a lot of FAQs and Infos so that those things need not to be discussed in the forum and the members can concentrate on more advanced level of conversation.
Also a big collections of information like these need some spaces to make it more readable.
Now we have to split them in multiple post and that's not very convenient.

I would like to know about this problem also.
