How they did this ? menu

How did they do this menu theres a title but theres sub-forum title



because mine has title and sub-forum link like in this pic "Technology Section" example
how do i remove that sub-forum link



much more advanced forum taken from hitesh website
see the icons and names under the menu its nicely done I want to learn that.

where do I insert these codes ?

I already tried using the search button ^^ but I don't know what word should a put in and i get different kinds of topics not related to the one that I want to learn.
