Just what IS an RPG Module?

Hi all,

I've been wondering just what an RPG module is or does for my forum. As everyone else here, I'm sure, I want my forum to be the best it can be. I'd be glad to add an RPG Module for my users, just as long as I can find out just what the heck it does! Can anyone help?
