Someone else has forum called the same as mine

Hi,

I don't really know where I stand or what to do about it.
I had a new member join my forum recently and she sent a PM saying she found another forum called exactly the same as mine but spelt slightly different.

My forum is: http://mumsnbumps.forumotion.com/index.htm
And this other forum is: http://mumzbumps.smfforfree4.com/

Aparently its a new forum and is advertised in the exact same place as mine is.

As you can imagine I am quite peeved at this.

Does anyone know where I stand or should I just forget all about it?

you dont stand anywhere, unless their forum is also an eact copy of yours. Parenting forums are two a penny out there now and your name is not original, sorry to put it bluntly. My old one, pregnancy2parenting.net, itowards the end i found one had been called pregnancyandparenting.net...

if i were you i would come up with a great new original name, then you can change the address to your forum really easily in the admin panel

it will be a great way to make your members feel a real prt of the community helping to name your forum, but if they do want to change it, any suggestions and i would google it just to see how many turn up for it

I actually know the person who owns the other site.
Its a different provider and at the time when she was thinking of a name she couldnt see any other around simalar so she wasnt trying to copy you

i know a good few mumsnbumps or babynbump, or bump2baby...etc. i doubt any are trying to intentionally copy its just the names are catchy and describe the site quite well.
