Re: Vietnamese language problem
Of course. I can use Vietnamese to write new post or name catogeries. This problem just happen when I use Vietnamese to write name of topic
You can see, English is ok, but Vietnamese has problem. It should be " Giao diện 4rum "

Re: Vietnamese language problem
Hi Progesco,
I don't know what other way to write Categories' name in Vietnamese. For my forum, I have to type the text in the VietUNi window online, then copy and paste it to the text box for category name in the admin panel.
VietUni script is ready online, you can google it anytime.
For me, the hard part is how to write Vietnamese in my forum. I still don't know how to install the VietUni or other Vietnamese script in my phpBB 3.0 forum (in order to write Vietnamese in the topic title, or any postings in the forum...)
If you know how, pleas help me. I'd appreciate it.

If you can write new posts in Vnese, name of topic in Vnese shouldn't be a problem. On the other hand, it's hard to write name of categories in Vnese because you write it in your Admin panel, and Vnese script isn't available there. Am I right ?

You can see, English is ok, but Vietnamese has problem. It should be " Giao diện 4rum "
well the reason for this is that it is trying to acquire a Vietnamese character (#7879) but it cannot find/access it. this would mean that
- Code:
#7879=ệ
Conclusion: The only thing that i can think of that would cause this to happen is that the topic title is not programmed to access the Vietnamese character #7879 or that the topic title is adding many codes to it that restrict it from accessing the character.
edit: i am looking back and i see that in the post that i am quoting it is using the refrence
- Code:
You can see, English is ok, but Vietnamese has problem. It should be " Giao diện 4rum
note: the code #7879 has a ";" after it but if i enter that it will switch it for the character
EDIT2: i just checked and you cannot access #7879 in a topic title on this forum my forum.
if anyone has anything to add please share
IMPORTANT NOTE: remember that this "database of Vietnamese characters" is just a theory. i bet there is one but i could be totally wrong.
QUESTION: did anyone else know about this database of Vietnamese characters?
as always:
hope this helps or clears up anything!
