Posts deleting randomly?

For no apparent reason, members posts are not showing when they reply to a topic. It's only a few, and it seems to be totally random. I don't have autopruning on and there doesn't seem to be any connection problems. Does anyone know what it could be?

I'm having a version of this problem - as I type my message, up to a whole sentence will just disappear! For me, it usually has to do with adding in a smiley. Pretty scary . . . .

Hmmm how long has this been going on?

I've been noticing my problem for about a week now. It's happened three times.

Wait another day and see if the problem continues

I will wait until I hear from DSDU as well.

If it's been a short time we will wait to see if it irons out itself, but if we get more people with the same problem I may move it to the techs forum. We will have to give it the weekend anyway, as the techs are gone for the weekend.

The prob on my forum has been happening for weeks. I might be able to sift through 5500 messages and find the first person to comment on it but it has been a while... I wonder if smileys has something to do with it?

This is really serious. It's happening more often now. I'm not sure if it's because I have more members and therefore more posts or if it's getting worse. Does anyone have any idea what it could be and how I could fix it? I realise this is a free forum, and that well, that might be what you get for free! I find it hard to believe though since forumotion is such a wonderful forum to use otherwise...

hi all , 2 of my members post count keeps going down ,and no mods/admins have deleted posts ???? I'm slightly lost

It looks like you are talking about 2 things here; posts disappearing after they are posted, and sentences disappearing as you are writing the post. Both are happening to our forum, and I am seeing the disappearing sentences when I use emoticons more often now. It is disconcerting.

As for the disappearing posts, we have a thread on it down in tech support for others who also might be having this problem.

I'm not sure but I think the only prob I have is posts being deleted after they've been posted. I haven't heard of anyone losing their sentences.
