User Profile box/hidden?
I've just posted and asked this question -
I want to add another question/field to the registration information process, how can I do this?
I got the answer and have done it - the question/ was to add a field called - 'Internet Service Provider' - and the field is hidden, how do I view their replies when they join?

I have clicked this field to be 'hidden' but if it's hidden, how do I/Admin, view it?

Thanks, but that's not what I wanted. I thought you wanted to add to the terms of service page people have top agree to. I wanted to add a new paragraph.
Possible anyone?
Re: User Profile box/hidden?
Rules (that users see when they register) can be added in your admin panel in "General / Rules & FAQ / Rules".
@timsmrs1: The personal profile has to be visible in order to read it's content.

so if you join a forum and it asks for this information and claims that the information is private, do they mean even they cant see it?

No. I tried adding some material. What happens is the additional stuff is added at the end of the registration page. You can't add questions or anything like that - just a statement of what you want people to do. In mine I just added that a real name was required for registration.

Re: User Profile box/hidden?
This field would be visible in a members profile or in the admin panel in "Users & Groups / Search users", but, as said, only if you made the personalized profile visible. Guests can't view a profile in any case though.

Re: User Profile box/hidden?
im sorry if im not explaining this right...
i joined a forum and in the registration part it asked for my isp as a security measure and it assured me my info wouldnt be made public
i think this was a good idea and i added the feature too, only i cant see their reply
does this mean the other forum i joined has the same problem, this is also run by forumotion

Re: User Profile box/hidden?
I can't see any need to give an ISP as a "security measure." Has nothing to do with anything. Even an IP address - if forumotion logs it - wouldn't so much, because doing a "whois" would only take them to your main IP - not your own computer.
Re: User Profile box/hidden?
so why would someone ask for it when you register?

You would have to ask them!
