Go to the widgets management and use the wrench to add more to it.

Simple html links would be created like this:

<a href="TARGET LINK">LINK NAME</a>

The next code would create a clickable image that redirects you to the target URL:

<a href="TARGET LINK"><img src="IMAGE LINK" /></a>
