Categories not showing.

Hello. I have a bit of a dilemma and was wondering if you could help me out. My categories don't show up. I do have forums within my categories as well, but on my frontend (forum) the categories don't show up but all of the forums do. I was wondering if anyone could assist me with this problem. Thankyou

make sure you created them like categories not forums

Yea I created them as categories, with forums within them.

Also after reading through some old topics I found it says go to admin panel > general > homepage... Thing is I go to the general tab and can't see the homepage link anywhere and yes, I have looked in the simple and advanced control panel setups.

Um... yea I know. I have done that, I have created categories with frums within them, and set the permissions up for the forums so they can be seen... it's just that the categories don't appear. I have read somewhere that you go to general > homepage > something about fixing. But I don't have a link that says "homepage" in my general tab, nor do I hae anything like it. I am not new to making forums by the way.

I did create categories... but they aren't showing.

Try to change your index packing in your admin panel: "Display / Homepage / Structure & Hierarchy".
