Shoutbox? Empty Shoutbox?

Hi,

I have been looking at a few editboard forums and noticed a few had shoutbox type areas on their homepage where dialogue can be continuous with no topic. I was just wondering how easy it is to apply to my forum, and how to do it.

Any help would be aprreciated. Thanks in advance.
