Sorry this may seem a really stupid Q but I am not sure of the answer.

I used credits to buy a domain name for my free forum here.
Will this make the site google-able?

Buying a Domain Name will not make your forum "searchable" until either a Google Web Crawler (Google Bot) comes and has a visit on your forum, or you submit the URL of your forum to Google yourself. You can do this here.
