I don't know who told you that link - it's wrong. Go to your admin panel/general/categories and forums. You don't say what your problem is, but that is where you set permissions, make new categories and/or forums, etc.

And then click the Plus Green button to add a forum/categories Very Happy

Then you have to set the permission of each category or forums

Hope it helps.

Make sure to have at least one forum in each of the categories. If you have no forums, the categories will not show.

Check the Structures & Hierarchy section of the panel. Set it for Medium.

OK this is what you do:

Put your ACP on advanced mode. Then go to Display-> Structure and hierarchy. Then, on the one that says "Split Categories On Index" set it to Medium. Save the changes then you are done.

No. Nothing like what you said. You needed to say "how do I split categories?" And provided screenshots of what your forum is, and what you want it to look like.
