NEW HOST Empty NEW HOST

Post by manor July 17th 2008, 9:19 am

i have built up a fairly ok forum with forumotion (www.eruption-mini.heavenforum.org) but i have recentley aquired a server to host flashchat that now requires all members to have a log in on forum and again for chat, am i permitted to move my forum to the new host so i can intergrate the 2 together and by clicking the chat button they are automaticly signed in the chat? or can my forum posts and user accounts be put into a folder to re-create in a new phpbb forum that i am able to create on the new server?

You cannot merge a free forum to another forum of any kind. No free forum will give you the database.

I feel your pain - I have the same issues with a free forum (not Forumotion) I've had for 4 years and have to recreate on my own server. Everything gone. At least all my members are people I know and can rebuild, but 4 years worth of posts are gone. Can't be helped.

a buy out option should be applied to keep free forums afloat financialy, end of the day its just data on a server, lives run around this data and i thought money could buy anything, things change very fast in computers etc and you need to move on to bigger better things as you progress and loosing 4 years as you have is a big decision and a big loss, the media im involved in is underground music and is very pro underneath it all, we all come together as one big familly and all know eachover and all individual talents from web to production and mixing can be very succesfull, i will find a way round it
