Password Protect

Is it possible to password protect a forum/group to make it private?

Easiest thing is to make a special group and allow only that group access to a particular forum. That's how I do it. Non members don't even see the forum.

how exactly can you do that? to allow a certain group to access a particular forum. i have a form that i want only the moderators to see/fill out periodically on other members. I don't want the members to have any access to that form, because anyone could fill out the form, and we wouldn't know which one would be reliable

Create a forum that you want the group to be able to see. Then create the group that you want to be able to view the forum. Then go back to the Forum in the Admin Panel and set the permissions so that nobody, bar staff and the group can view or post messages in it. Then save. Go back to Group Administration and click on the group that you created before. Click on the Permissions Tab ans then scroll down and check (tick) the "Allowed Access" box next to the forum you want them to view and post. Then save your changes.

Now, only that group has access to that forum. This is a great for creating Staff Only Forums etc.
