I think that having a 'Recent Topics' widget for a specific forum would be a good idea.
In the widget options you should be able to select which forum you'd like to pull recent topics from.
This could prove useful if placed in your Portal so 'Off Topic' topics created wouldn't fill the 'Recent Topics' widget.

Agreed and I voted yes. I really need this on my forum, so that my "YadaYada" forum will not be in the recent topics widget.
