Last Post Column width problem
This seems minor but it's major to me. On the index page, in the column that shows the title of the last post (titled "last post", the last post before the forum widget column - it contains the subject title, date and author) there is a problem. The problem is that that column automatically widens to whatever length of the subject title. This makes the appearance of the forum change with the width of each post - getting wider with a long titled post - thinner with a short one! . The effect is that it gets so wide and reduces the width of the remaining columns. This never happened until lately - it is so noticeable I could not have missed it.I want to be able to force that column to a standard width - for both practical and aesthetic reasons, in my view, this is the way it should be - can anyone help with this????
Does anyone know where I can find a description of the names of the sections/elements of a phpBB page. I saw one once but I can't locate it now????
Thanks

Not really knowing what column that command changed I tried it before - no effect. I just changed it again, no effect again at all.....
Re: Last Post Column width problem
The selector says "Title length of the last topic on index :"
"Title length" means the number of characters you see as the name of the last topic. The default is 16. If you set it to a lesser amount, as Kilsek told you, the width of the last topic column will be smaller. Set it higher, and the column will be wider.
I can't explain why it doesn't work for you, unless your template CSS overrides the default - it certainly does work for me.
If you want to play, the CSS class for that area is td.row1

Re: Last Post Column width problem
EUREKA!!! KilSek & Saurus, I Was completely in error, I changed the number as you suggested and Voila' it worked. That number apparently represents characters!
Changing .td.row1/row2/row3 had an effect too. But the forum is back to where it was. I would really appreciate if you can look at some of the other questions I've posted. The latest of which is the forum widgets "sticking up" above the forum top line...
Thanks again
