LURKERS

Can it be set up so newly joined members automatically are moved into the lurkers group i have set up?

How come I cannot block this group from viewing certain threads.

I want new members to be classed as lurkers until they reach 50 posts then they move to the members group however i have tried to alter the lurkers group permissions but it dosent work they can still see everything

something like this really need set up, its fartoo much work to do it all manually

well, i'm sorry but from all that i know, you have to manually add new members into your usergroup, and then once they reach 50 posts, you must manually move them up.


The trouble you are having with the "Lurkers" viewing everything can be easily fixed.

You need to set the forum permissions so that all other members besides the lurker's usergroup can view the forums. If you want to suggest that this should be an option, go to "The Forum of the Forums" and post your suggestion in the Suggestions area.

HI I TRIED TO SET THE FORUM PERMISSIONS BUT IT DOSENT WORK THEY CAN STILL VIEW EVERYTHING

No need to use all caps o.o

Try this. Admin panel>>Users & Groups>>Group administration

Then Under "action" in the lurkers usergroup column, click on permissions, and change them accordingly, if you dont want them to have access to certain forums, the make sure the "allowed access" under simple permissions in that forums column, isn't filled, only check that off, for the forums you want them to see.
