And what you would then be doing is violating the owners copyright unless they are marked as public domain.

Forum deleted.

Goodbye.

What makes people think they can just TAKE anything they see anywhere on the web for their own use?

You don't, really - you assume that it is unless you know for sure otherwise. Or you make them yourself, or go to websites that have graphics available to the public domain. There are lots of them - just Google for "free icons" or whatever.

ANY image, video, song, or other property on the web - unless it comes from a public domain location, or the owner specifically allows its use - is ILLEGAL to use. If you link to the image instead of hosting it yourself, you are compounding the theft. Most smilies are offered as public domain on many sites - you are usually safe there.

You either have permission to use such things by the owner of the copyright - or you leave it alone. Period. There are plenty of places offering free graphics of all kinds to the public domain. Either find something you like there or make them yourself.

In the end, yes. It's your forum and you're responsible for what is on it.

No need for that - the people telling you it's okay to steal someones graphics are the stupid ones - not you. At least you seem to be trying to do it legitimately.

Well why would they put it on the web for public veiw.If they dont want you to see it or anything why even bother do so.For example look at googles you dont need anyone permission to copy from their do you Every Image,Info go their and get it.There's a simple way of getting the solve buttom its really , really easy...Your right about Getting the Permission of the Forum owner to Copy their Material's and such though and i dont think they'll delete it just put it un susspention...
