members posting

Is there a way of getting new members to my forum to post in intros then after that the whole forum is available. I mean as in the forum is locked untill they first post in our intros and after that they are allowed to posts else where

Good question, although I have it posted that members please introduce themselves before posting, they still fail to do so. It's not a big deal to me, some people are shy/quite whatever when it come to introducing themselves.

What I have presently in place is a "Welcome Message"

Welcome private message>

written something to the effect of:

"Before posting in any of the forums please say hello and introduce yourself in, 'Greetings and Introductions'- Thank You"

This is an automated message from the Administrator of The Blah Blah Forum

I suppose one could set up a group and have it set to no read, write etc. on any of the forums except the greetings and intro forum, and put new members in that group until they introduce themselves just seems like alot of moderation though.
