HELP!! My Board won't accept any posts??

Hi

Unlike this board here , I am unable to post anything on my board! It appears that in WYSIWYG mode I can type letters and numbers in the "post a reply" section but then it won't send!??

None of the smilies work or any of the functions for editting text such as bold, underline, colour, link etc etc etc. It is not just me that can't do this ... others have tried on my forum and have the same issue!

Please can you fix asap as I have made more posts on this forum concerning problems with this new forum than I have on my own!

Is there any writting near the top stating what the problem is, Like a warning message?

Or will it simply not post when you select the "Post" button?

Notice that the tool buttons are missing, and a different problem (?), the Home, Search, and Profile icons are missing. Related to that, here is a screen shot of those entries on the admin page:



No matter what you type in the body of the message, when you privew, all you get is the subject.

No warning messages .... just nothing happening in wysiwyg at all

Errrr ... To avoid confusion...... the above problem posted by dik is NOT the same issue I am having. I can see all the wysiwig icons I just can't use them!

It appears that the settings either aren't switched on or it needs re syncing

This will work for both of you

1. Navigate to:

Admin Panel\General\Messages & Emails (Left hand side under Forum)

2. Select "Yes" next to

• Activate extended message editor :
  
• Activate the WYSIWYG mod by default in the posts :
  
• Allow Quick Reply :
  

3. Select "Save" and try it now

You may have to change the url's as some of the images appear to have been moved or deleted from Hitskin thus making the URL's disabled

I've tried turning WYSIWYG off and on several times. The first time I turned it off, I got the proper tool bar, but when I tried to preview a message, it went back to what I capture above. Now whether WYSIWYG is off or on, you get the same thing.

Is the most likely problem. I started using it last week when it was released. If I go back to using Avant, the problem is gone.

Are you using the new Google Chrome browser? If so that is why the pictures are not being displayed.

Trying to post here using Chrome, I found that as long as not in WYSIWYG mode everything works properly. But when I switch to WYSIWYG, the problem appears, and you cannot switch back to normal mode. As much as I like the Chrome UI, I guess it is back to FireFox...

Indeed I tried out Chrome too and noticed this issue, be aware that Chrome is still beta so still needs some improvements.

I invite you to browse with firefox to use your forum at 100% capacity.

i hate anything but fire fox and my forums never had any problems so i think fire fox is best

I was using FireFox prior to Chrome, only switched because I like the UI (and to try it out).
