Moving forum off forumotion

I might be moving my forum off forumotion, but not for a little while. I have already read that you cannot get the info on it and thats ok i can deal with it. What do we have to do about the domain name though? This wont be for a little and i may possibly not do it. I was just wondering if i could get the basic info on this.
