Determine whether a user is logged in

Is there a code for that ? i mean , what are the variables ?

example :

if (user.isloggedin){
//codes here
}
else{
alert('please register');
}

i don't think such script can be apply on forumotion because we dont have direct access on php database. but still there is a way to make similar thing without require coding.

i suggest you to make a new portal block and set permission to guest only. put welcoming message there with link to register or login.

for example :


translation :
welcome guest, please register before can join our community or just login if you already have an account

hey there thanks for attending to my problem .

i already had solution to my problem . i managed to do different scripts one for members and one for guests ..but not by a portal .. i put it at every page of my forum .. i did it by widgets ..
