How do i get members to join my site?

To get members to join to your forum, you need people to know about it. The easiest way to do this is by submitting your forum to search engines (read this topic) and by word of mouth.

Make your forum appealing and professional looking. Have lots of content and make your forum look busy. Try link exchanging with other forums and website.

Big D. you should always read all forum rules stickies and announcements when ever going into a new forum you may not be familiar with.
the best place for a question like this would have bin on the all forum questions board
in the discussions or perhaps the discussions board it self. but i guess it can be other problems to. after all if you cant get or know how to get members? then heck yea. that can be a problem.

as far as trying to gain members. also be sure to put your forum in forum directories.
and you should also promote it here in the forum promotions section.
be sure to read the rules on how to promote it correctly.

oh you know what else works good. make a video saying some stuff about it. try to make as exciting as possible. then upload to youtube veoh etc.. and when naming the video. have you forums address as it name. if you make it exciting and people find it to be interesting or fun. they will go there no doubt.
then there always myspace stickam and facebook among others.

create a stickam account with the same theme as your forum.
depending how you do it? that sometimes can bring a good amount of members in as well. if using stickam correctly(haveing an entertainers account). i have seen it do wonders for some forums.
