Activating HTML

I am new here. Trying to get my forum up and running. I want to put a chat client on my site, but I can't seem to activate HTML on my webpage. All I see is code. Can you help me. I am doing something wrong. And have now just gave up.. Even photobucket isn't showing now. HELLLLPPPP!

Hello, there are two paces where you need to activate HTML.

1) In your profile; go to >Profile > Preferences > Allow HTML

2) In your admin panel; go to >Admin Panel> General> Messages and Emails> Allow HTML
