how to mask over links for guests?

hello everyone i want to mask overs links for guest don't want them to hide i wan to mask over like

Only Registered Users can see the link click here to register

and the text should be red color here i don't want to break the rulers so that's why i let the color as it was in quote
and when they click on the "here" it should take them to registration page.

Heya

As standard any guest to your forum will be able to see the "Register" link until they register or log in

You can also set the forum and forum links to hide from guests

1. Navigate to

Admin panel\General\Categories & Forums

2. Select next to each forum

3. Once you are in the forum edit section select "Permissions"

4. uncheck ALL boxes for "Guests" and press "Save"

5. Navigate to

Admin panel\User & Groups\ Special Permissions

6. set each drop down to "Members" and "Save"

Guests will no longer be able to see anything except the basic structure of the forum, the title and the register link

no you didn't understand i want them to see all even the links but it should be like i said i don't want guest to see the basics

Hmm my apologies,

If you have phpbb2, you can add such links and such text using the template editing however there is no other version of the forum that allows you to do this

You can however follow steps 1 - 4 but only uncheck in the permissions of the forum for guests to "Read" the forum, they can see all the links and see the forum but they will not be able to read the posts, they will then be redirected to a register and login page

Follow steps 5 & 6, they will still see the links until the register they wont be able to access those areas though

A slight compromise lol

ok So you mean the guests wouldn't be able to see the last comment in the posts right? they can only see the title of the posts is that what you mean
