What on earth is a portal

Can you insert HTML code into it to place a hit counter on ur site?

Yes you can. Just hit the button that looks like this <> if you hold your mouse over it it should say Toggle HTML Source.

From there you can put the HTML code for it.

Go to your profile and you will see an avatar section. You can get the URL of the image, get one off your computer, or get one off of a gallery if there is one available.

And can you add HTML code without adding a portal?

You can put HTML codes :

- In the site description : Admin Panel > General Admin > Configuration > Site description (CAUTION : The space is limited, so only short scripts will work)

- In the homepage message : Admin panel > Yellow arrow > General Admin > Homepage > click on the <> button > you can type HTML codes or paste HTML scripts.

- In a forum description : Admin Panel > Yellow arrow > Forum Admin > Management+ > Edit a forum > Click on the <> button > you can type HTML codes or paste HTML scripts

- In a portal block : Admin Panel > Yellow Arrow > Portal > Portal structure > Create or Edit a block > click on the <> button > you can type HTML codes or paste HTML scripts.

I know what a portal is. It's the homepage of a forum where you can see the news and latest posts and enter the forum. Simple as that!
