Re: members deleting posts [solved]
Change their Forum Permissions in the Admin Panel.
Admin Panel>
Users and Groups>
Find the group you want.. (Whatever you named the group members are in)
Group Permissions>
Then just change their permissions to not be able to delete posts..
Hope this helps you .

Re: members deleting posts [solved]
Everyone has to be in a group though, it's impossible to not be in them.
You are either a Guest or a Member, there is no in the middle.
Find which group you have each of the members you don't want to allow to delete their posts and click them and edit their permissions.

Re: members deleting posts [solved]
I'm not sure if you are aware yet but a "MEMBER" is the Group name..
It's also the term we use for someone who registers and transcends from a Guest to a Member.
Tell me your User Groups... and I can help you further.
Note: You normally instantly become a member after you register.. and are placed in the member group, unless you have set it up so you have to place them where to go. (A good way to see this is to set colours)

First of all, members can't delete/moderate posts. Second of all, if you are kinda mixed up with some things, then do what Demonspike said :

rokstrsk83rdude Woah!
Steady on there my friend, I know what you are trying to do and I appreciate it, but what you said just came across as Brash, as if you are annoyed at him for not understanding... try to drop the tone a bit if you could please.
What rokstrsk83rdude has said isn't true, they can delete posts, however he is also suggesting to you that if you are still unsure, try what I suggested to you and see how that goes..
(Lets not get heated about this, were here to help, Voluntarily too..)

With THIS kind of attitude, I will be totally surprised if anybody else tries to help you.
You don't bite the hand that feeds.

Maybe i can help you.GPR RIDER wrote:hello i want to take away the permission to delete their posts.
whoever said that members can't edit/delete their posts is WRONG.
they can edit (without the edit info if no one has replied, then with the edit info if someone already has) and delete if no one has replied . once someone replies they can't delete them
OK>>> instructions
to take away permissions to edit/delete theirs post:
go to General>Categories and forums>
Click the Forums permissions control tab
Choose the forum you want to modify (if it is ALL you have to do them individually)
click permissions.
there you should see options for "edit its own messages" and "delete its own messages".
UNTICK those 2 boxes and click save.
that should work for you.
