News widget not showing in portal

I have recently created a forum for my alliance using a hitskin theme made by kilsek. I have finished adding my categories and forums. Therefore, I have decided to add the portal and have configured the widgets that I want to use with it. My problem is that, the News widget is not showing in the Portal page even though there is a topic that already exists within the forum (Forum News) that the News widget is supposed to use to display the topics/posts from.

The News widget is positioned above the Who's Online widget and is supposed to show/display for everyone.

Any help or info to solve this problem would be very much appreciated.

Have you rechecked to ensure that the news widget has been added to your portal structure? That its permissions are set to be viewable to all? The forum the news comes from, have you checked its permissions too? I would double check all your settings, as it should be working.

Yes, I have double and triple checked the permissions on the News widget as well as the forum that the News widget is getting the news from. They are both set to allow guests to view, read, or reply to a topic presented in there.

And no, the News widget still isn't showing in the portal page despite having the correct permissions for it to be shown to guests, members, moderators, and admins.
