I am looking at setting up a forum for private use (restricted access) can some one please advise me is it possible to restrict access to registered members only - i.e. so they cannot view any of the forum until this has taken place and secondly is it possible to authorise each new user as apposed to automated.. thanks

yes, your forum can be restricted to members only.
