Re: what kind of ads are this ?
yes ive just noticed this myself tonight, ads that have attached themselfs to words in the post like the screen shot above displays.
Im not happy either with these. Arent banner ads enough for the forums without this spamming of words throughout the posts.

Hmm, this doesn't seem like a normal problem as for that adertisement is pretty abnormal.
Try PMing Caihlem about this situation. He'll probally let the techs of ForuMotion work this through.

I know. I hate the ads lately too. I got one terrible ads yesterday too. It's about the pill to enlarge the men thing. I'm was like in shock and embarrass when I opening the link to my forum. I'm glad that they gone now and hopefully they will not be back.

Yes its unfortunate that the ads are showing up like this, and mine are still there.

as you can see the ads have attached themselves to the words "picture" and "ten"
strange though how its not doing it in every post, maybe its associated with imgserve or something.
This really is a shame, forumotion started out as one of the best in the ads stake, at first not having any, which was good, then they decided to place them at the top, which i guess is fair enough, you get used to them, but with this inclusion of ads in the posts too, its starting to get really bad for ads now.

Think ive solved it, go to administration panel, click on general, then configuration then where it says "Text ads activation (underlined)" make sure the no box is selected. It worked for me, good luck.

Yep griff solved it...
What more worrying is why its in the admin in the first place, its a new thing this, so is it for later when its made compulsory unless you pay, like the other ads.
I hope not.

Re: what kind of ads are this ?
Yes very worrying what happened here and I'm glad I took the time today to read this help forum and find a solution to switch it all off. Not too pleased that these things just happen without any announcements or something. But I wouldn't know as I don't check announcements on this forum if it was listed under new forum things or something. Glad you could just turn it off, it just appeared in my banner luckily not in the forum itself but they were silly adds not related to the subject of the forum. I'm surprised there aren't more messages about this problem on here. I've had them for two days on my forum.
