Remove chatbox?

Is it possible to remove the chatbox entirely while still having it available?
I realize clicking chatbox opens a new tab, with the box at a full page I like that.
But is it possible to hide the one on the front page while making just a link available to open it in a new tab/window?

Should be able to do that. Just make sure you've enabled the chat box. Then under configuration under chat box, just select "do not display" then validate.

Well I know it is possible since a forum that I belong to has it set up that way. Unfortunately, I don't know how to do it. Maybe someone will come along that can let us know how!

Chatbox will gone, but space and "button" (don't know, how it is called in English) to resize chatbox not. If you click on link "Join the Chatbox", you will see normal chatbox in new tab, but this from bottom can be Hidden. Tried on phpBB2 Style Version.
