Blank Page ??

Hi,

Ive got a problem on my forum; I have a staff room on my forum only accesible to mods and super mods, admins etc.

I can go into the staff room, but when I click on a topic (a certain topic, just one) it does'nt show and the page is all blank white.

Ive tried other browsers, re-synched the 'staff room' but nothing works ... I have important stuff going on so if anyone can help I would be greatful

Did you resynch just the forum itself?

Erm the staff room only. The other thing, ive just tested it on another laptop, and it works fine. I think its my firewall, i hate it .... arrrggg!!!

Well, I guess that the only thing wrong is your FireWall activity.

Try resynching your forum itself :

• Admin Panel >

• General Tab >

• Forum -- Configuration (found on sidebar) >

• Scroll all the way down at the bottom section, and beside where "Resynchronize your forum :" is stated, select the box to check it; and then save the settings afterwards.

I know its my firewall Stupid thing ... It blocks most things Im so gonna change.

Ok, then if it's your FireWall that's the issue, there isn't really of a need to of even made this thread.

But I didnt know that till now .... just keeping you updated.

Anyways, this is sort of a general problem that you need to suit out with your personal computer. I wish you luck on the situation.

Firstly do NOT deactivate your Firewall!!!!!!!
AVG isn't that good as there is still a trojan called AVG.exe at large.....

Use something like avast that sits in the background without needing ANY user interactions, Its highly rated, Free and all updates are automatic, you get like 5 a day lmao

Right now the only way that you could get a virus via a forum is if someone has hosted illegal images, bit torrent files, links to a web page that has a virus (You would need to visit that page though) or if you already had a virus

This would be the first time in History that a virus would able to specifically target a so called "Hidden" forum section.

Doesn't happen that way I'm afraid

Sounds as if someone either restored the forum at some point or someone has tried to move or delete the forum as it was being used

can you please provide a link to the forum and a screen shot of what you see

I will scan the forum for ANY viruses

Thanks. I use Kaspersky, and this happens on quite a few sites I visit, it blocks them ...

Right well Kaspersky is pretty needy when it comes to maintaining a constant complete service, I'm hinting at the fact that not all web pages are viewable of course lol

They tend to block pages if it thinks you haven't used it before or has a keyword triggered for example, virus, worm or trojan could cause Kaspersky to block a website from view
