Guests still able to view posts

I have my whole forum set for only members to be able to view, people are still viewing it as guests, i had someone check it and took a screen shot as a guest.
How can i stop this?

Admin Panel>General>Categories and Forums>

Click on the forum category that you want. Click on "permissions".

Click Advance mode for more of the control. There you can set who can view what and who cannot view what. It's useful if you want a "staff only area" to discuss changes to the forum as well.

I did that, and guests can still read it, whats with that?
Is there a way to make it so guests only get a log in/register screen?

Change all of you forums permission so that guests can't see them

I'm having that same issue as well as a hidden user, and I've checked my settings, and they are still having access.

I know you have said you have changed the permissions. I think you should have another quick look. Make sure all boxs that say "allow to view and read" in the guests column are NOT ticked.

If not I'll try and find something else

are you sure you clicked "advanced settings" in

admin panel, general, categories and forums. and click the x/check for all of them

I can't see your forum or inside posts. It asks me to log in.
So guests cannot view posts for sure.

Sorry for the late reply, but I am not sure about that because I can not get in without joining.

It looks like guests cannot see anything without logging in. Things seem to be correct. If you still believe guests can view posts, I suggest you "log out" Peddler and see if you can view any posts to confirm it for yourself.

I have the same problem! I've checked all my settings, I even logged out and I can't view any areas in my forum, it even asks me to log in or register. I know I have all my setting set right, but some how I have a guest from Santa Clara California viewing my forum. I deleted that IP address in the ban control area and a few minutes later another IP address showed up viewing my forum from Santa Clara California, so I deleted that IP# by using the their hostname.

Any ideas why a guest can view areas of my forum and how I can fix?

Yes, I know....when I logged off and was a guest that's all I saw too. But someone from CA, is able to see other areas of my forum. The only thing I can think of is it a bot? Can a bot be listed as a guest and are they able to view other areas of a members only site?

A guest shouldn't be able to view your forum even with the correct permissions set. If on the 'Who's Online ?' it says guests are online, it just means they are at your forum looking at the log in/register screen. They are in no way looking through topics.

Yes, that's the area I can see what they are viewing. Guests can only view the small area I allowed them to view, but I noticed the "Who's Online" area said one guest was viewing an area they should not of been viewing. Does that make sense?

Oh and by the way I really do appreciate all the help you all are offering, so please keep trying to help me.

That's odd, cause like Sanket said when I was a guest on your forum all I can see is Guest Info. Can that person reply to the threads and forum he sees?

When I would log in as a guest that's what I see too(just the guest info). I just don't know how that one person is able to view areas he's not allowed to view. I was just wondering why and if there is something I can do to fix it.

OK, I was able to use the "Who is Online" and the Google map in the admin panel while a bot was on and the bot is located at the same place that is showing up as the guest in question. So I guess I answered my own question......a bot can show up either as a bot or a guest and view all areas of your forum that guests can not.
