installing hit counters

I have read all i can find in here and attempted to install a hit counter on my site..after 12 attempts..im getting frustrated..the most common error i get after creating the module is" file not found"..I cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong..any assistance would be greatful..thank you in advance for your help

It may not work with a java script, but it does work with a html script as in my site.

I put the code in the Homepage message box, but you have to switch the A/a button so you can add the code.
